Meerlust Wokers Operational Pty Ltd, trading as Compagniesdrift has been a 100% black-owned, black economic empowerment organisation since July 2019. The company, fundend by the Myburgh Family Trust, Standard Bank and the Land Reform and Development Programme (LRAD) of the Department of Land Affairs, specialises in wine storage, bottling and labelling facilities for wine producers in the South African wine industry.

Since 2015 the company has grown into a wine production company, producing a premium range of wines under the Compagniesdrift label.

In 2010, the Muburgh Family Trust, owners of the world-renowned Meerlust Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, identified meaningful and economically viable projects that would benefit their farm workers. It is this long-term investment and mentorship from skilled business people in the Myburgh family and Meerlust company that led to a highly successful empowerment business built on the traditions of integrity and quality.
